4.5 Result grades

If you mark where your overall continuous assessment score and your overall examination score cross on the following matrices, you should be able to see the result grade you will achieve.

Level 1 courses with distinction and pass

The following courses award distinction and pass grades: AA100, B(YB)120, BU130, DB123, K100, KZX100, K101, KYN101, KYP101,K113, KZW113, K114, K115, K116, L(ZX)120, L(ZX)130, L140, L(ZX)192, L(ZX)193, L(ZX)194, L195, LB160, S104, S110, T172, T173. You are also required to reach other set scores for language courses (see ‘Thresholds’ in Section 4.4).

Some courses do not allow resits or resubmissions at all. Some require a threshold of 30 to be achieved on the overall examination score (OES). See your course material.

Level 1 courses with distinction and pass

Level 1 courses where pass results are not graded

The following courses award a pass grade only: B121, E111, E115, E118, E123, E124, E132, S103, SDK122, SK120, SK121, SK123, T121, T175, T191, U122, W100, W150

If course rules allow; no residential school course (signified by XR in the course code) allows resits or resubmissions.*

Matrix for courses where pass results are not graded

The following courses have only one assessment component (see Section 4.2), and pass results are not graded: B121, D100, DD121, DD122, EZL123, EZL124, EZL131, EZL132, M150, MST121, MT127, MU120.

The following courses have only one assessment component (see Section 4.2) and award at distinction and pass: D170, D171, KZL107, KZL114.

Courses above Level 1 with four pass levels

Most courses above Level 1 have four pass levels.

Courses in the law programme and the language programme require you to reach other set scores and/or to pass both parts of the examinable component (see ‘Thresholds’ in Section 4.4).

The following courses have only one assessment component (see Section 4.2): AT272, AXR271, AXR272, DXR222, DZX222, K215, K316, K330, K331, K332, K333, K334, K335, K336, K337, K338, K340, K341, KYK230, KYK231, KYK232, KYK290, TM227, TT280, TT281, TT282, TT380, TT381, TT382, TXR220.

Courses above Level 1 that award only pass or fail

The following courses award only either pass or fail: E218, M253, T397, T398, TM227, TXR248. No residential school course (signified by XR in the course code) allows resits or resubmissions.
