back to topThe location
Ely Cathedral
Ely Cathedral is famous for its Norman nave and its 14th Century Octagon and Lady Chapel. The contrast between the solemnity of the nave and the light flooding into the transept from the Octagon, provides a memorable setting for our degree ceremony and the celebration of the achievements of our graduates.
It can feel cold in the Cathedral, even on a warm day so we would advise you and your guests to dress accordingly.
The Cathedral is open to visitors as usual before the ceremony, so you are advised to take care of your personal belongings. Neither the Open University nor the Cathedral authorities can take any responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.
Smoking is not permitted in the Cathedral, the Kings School Hayward Theatre or the marquee.
