When you reserve a place on a course, let us know if you want to apply for financial support and we will send you an application form. Alternatively, if you reserve online you'll be taken to the online financial support application.
Financial support is not usually available if you already have a degree, or for postgraduate courses, although you may be eligible for a Career Development Loan or an award from the Crowther Fund. For more information go to postgraduate financial support.

For most courses, there are no formal entry requirements, although if you have not studied before you may find it helpful to do some preparatory work before starting undergraduate study, in order to develop a suitable level of study skills. You can do this independently or working with a tutor on one of our Openings courses.
A few courses have entry requirements, for example some courses are for people who are working in specific jobs, and some courses are only for postgraduates.
To find out if the course you are interested in has specific entry requirements, look at the course description on the Courses and Qualifications website, under 'Entry'.
We strongly recommend that students new to Higher Education, Open University study or to a particular subject area start at Level 1.
You may find it helpful to talk through your study options with us. Please contact the Student Registration and Enquiry Service on 0845 300 60 90 to be put in touch with an adviser.
