You then apply for the part-time free grant (PTFG) from the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS). As part of the process, you need to send your form to the OU in Scotland, with your registration agreement, for us to confirm to SAAS that you're on a module.
How long does it take?
SAAS take up to 28 days to process your application. Please allow plenty of time for your application to be assessed, as you need to have completed the application process by the final enrolment date of the module.

What is meant by certified ID when applying for financial help?

The first time you make an application for financial support to the University you must provide a copy of either your birth certificate or passport, certified as a true copy of the original document by someone from the approved list detailed in the financial support application guidance notes. Please note that you do not need to know the person who certifies your identification; they are confirming that your documents are true copies of the original, not that they know you. Please ensure you follow the guidance notes carefully when providing certified ID as incorrectly certified documents will result in your application being delayed. If you are required to provide proof of your right to remain in the United Kingdom, these documents should also be certified in accordance with the guidance notes.
