Student reviews

This module had some interesting content and I found the entire module engaging. In particular I enjoyed the topics surrounding Migration and conflict minerals. The only part I did not enjoy was the collaboration that formed part of a tutor-marked assignments (TMAs) - mostly because there was not a great uptake of participation, however that did not lessen my TMA score so it was not a big deal. My first 3 TMAs didn't have a brilliant score 60/70 mark but 4th was a positive jump and the end-of-module assessment score and feedback I received was very good. I put the improvement as I went along down to my tutor. I advise anyone taking any module with the OU to really engage with the feedback; good or bad it's there to help us. I did achieve a grade 2 pass, and believe that was due to feedback and attending as many tutorials as I could. I'm glad that I chose this module as my first OU level 2 module.
