I began studying this module in October 2023. I chose the module mainly because I love the subject and I thoroughly enjoyed studying English Language at A Level. What a year! I am so glad I chose to study L101 for my first year, and if anyone is reading this debating whether to do the same, my advice is do it! You really won't regret it. I have learnt so much, and the sense of achievement I've felt after finishing the year has been unmatched. L101 definitely was not easy and I didn't get much support at all from my tutor, but I pushed through as a result and passed the year. You learn so much about language, on a national and a global scale, you learn about gender, class, media representations, creative writing and more.
If you love English Language this is a great all rounder module and definitely the module for you.
