Student reviews

On the whole the course was interesting and relatively easy to follow. An exception was the instructions to the tutor-marked assignment (TMA) linked to the rats; brown fat experiment: the experiment was fine but it was less clear what needed to be included in the TMA. The final TMA I loved - counting bees/pollination and I would strongly recommend the Field School if at all possible. Such a help with the TMA which is part of the examinable component. Workload okay, concepts articulated fine, though I struggled with the different modes of photosynthesis but thats probably just me! Good fun and interesting for the most part.

I loved this course! Yes there were teething problems, but the team was always on hand to accept our criticisms and any noticed mistakes on the materials. The online tutorials were fab, entertaining, informative, interactive and fun. I felt we all received the same learning opportunities. We had national and tutor group tutorials.

the experiments and observations we carried out brought diversity to the learning techniques and kept me interested in the reading materials.

The residential was a blast! I was never much use at school and in the classroom so was aprehensive, but it was so good to get together with fellow students and have a good chin wag (moan). The tutors and staff there were great and I got more out of that weekend than the whole of some other modules. Highly recommended. Wish I could do it again!
