Student reviews

I really enjoyed this course. It was my first level 2, and that, combined with the subject materials which were entirely new to me, made it quite a challenge in terms of the time I had to commit. I loved the breadth of the content and I felt I was filling really important gaps in my knowledge about how the world works on a global scale. Enlightening and thought-provoking and a bit alarming! My tutor was excellent, really thorough in her marking with lots of helpful feedback. I felt like she was passionate about her subject and that she wanted me to succeed. The only negative is, like many Social Sciences courses, the material was already quite out of date. Obviously the core themes and theories don't change much, but the various collaborative activities would have been more interesting to work on with more current materials. Overall I recommend this to anyone who wants to understand some of the drivers of the big international news events and look at the world with a more global perspective.
