This module is probably most unlike others you will study with the OU in that the main content of the course isn't provided by the OU themselves but by Cisco. You get access to Cisco's Netcad learning environment so you're learning it exactly how Cisco want it to be taught.

Personally, this was the most enjoyable module for me in that it is more widely accessible in content delivery than other OU modules. Content is broken up with visual diagrams, videos and useful practicals that make it easier to break down. The OU do provide some assistant material to further understanding, mostly regarding subnetting as that's quite a tricky concept to those that are not familiar with it.

I was very happy with this module, but bear in mind that CCNA Part 2 is required to obtain all the knowledge to do your CCNA.

The content was interesting, practical, relevant and mostly well-structured and easy to follow.

The module did have some pacing inconsistencies - certain weeks required significantly more time in order to properly grasp the concepts and had much more content than others. I would recommend 'scanning ahead' to stay on top of this and plan your time accordingly.

The day school allows you to put your learning into practice on real equipment. Don't underestimate the importance of preparing for this - unfortunately, not much (and not enough, in my opinion) time is allocated to this in the planner but you need to be confident in what you have learned so far and prepared for the exam which takes place on the day.
