Student reviews

This was my first law course and I dived in at level 3. It took me a while to find my footing and my first two TMAs were certainly not spectacular both scoring in the high 60s which were the worst marks I had received for any of my courses up until that point. I was in line for a Grade Pass 3 which was pretty disappointing but I didn't really feel engaged by the subject until the EMA and the topic of art/culture and law which I thoroughly enjoyed and, as a result, managed a Grade Pass 2.

Although the subject matter is interesting in parts and probably less 'dry' than other law courses, I still didn't feel sufficiently excited by the syllabus. I would have preferred more in depth analysis of topics and the interaction/overlap with law. A 60 credit course with 4 or 5 TMAs allowing for greater indepth exploration of the law and its applications within culture & society would have personally been more interesting and engaging.

Module satisfaction survey

The figures below are taken from a survey of students who sat the exam/completed the end-of-module assessment for the October 2016 presentation of W340. The survey was carried out in 2017.

36 students (a response rate of 24.7%) responded to the survey covering what they thought of 10 aspects of the module.

Please note that if the percentage of students who responded to this module survey is below 30% and/or the number of responses is below 23 it means that only a small proportion of students provided feedback and their views as shown here may not be fully representative of all students who studied the module.

See this page for the full text of questions and more information about the survey.
