Britain's entrepreneurs are 'living the dream'

Britain's new generation of small business owners is proving that entrepreneurship and flexible working can go hand in hand, according to new research from the Small Enterprise Research Team at the OU Business School and Lloyds TSB Business.

The study reveals that almost two-thirds of owner-managers in the UK (62 per cent) who were surveyed are taking full advantage of their independence and adopting flexible working practices, including working from home (46 per cent), flexitime (22 per cent), part-time working (18 per cent) and staggered hours (12 per cent). Overall, 42 per cent of respondents feel satisfied with their work-life balance.

Journalists seeking more information are asked to contact Neil Coaten in the OU media relations team; contact details, right.
