The POWER Programme for refugee learners - in which The Open University is a partner - has been presented with a special award to mark outstanding achievement.
The London Education Partnership Award was presented by London Schools Minister Lord Adonis.
The partnership supports and encourages refugee learners to go on to higher education. Currently, 45 people are studying with The Open University through the programme. It includes community outreach work, home study, and English language assessment and lessons.
The University, Paddington Development Trust and City of Westminster College make up the partnership.
