OpenLearn is announced as finalist in the New Statesman New Media Awards

OpenLearn - The Open University's open content initiative - has been announced as a finalist in the Education category of The New Statesman New Media Awards.

The award will be presented later this month to the body or project that has made the most significant contribution to education through the use of new media technology.

OpenLearn communications manager Laura Dewis said the announcement was great news and would help build awareness about free online learning opportunities. She said: "Over the years these awards have highlighted some excellent work in the use of new media for social justice. It's great to see OpenLearn up there with some other really strong entries, not just in education but in advocacy, information, openness and innovation – all topics close to the heart of those working at The Open University."
