Top for overall satisfaction

For the third year running The Open University tops the National Student Survey for overall satisfaction.

Ninety-five per cent of its students mostly or definitely agreed they were satisfied overall, according to results published today (Wednesday, September 12) – a result unmatched by any of the other 146 UK higher education providers whose students were surveyed.

“Achieving the highest level of overall satisfaction in any one year is an excellent accomplishment,” said Professor Brenda Gourley, the University’s Vice-Chancellor, “but to be the top-performing university every year since the survey began is a truly extraordinary achievement. These outstanding results highlight the quality of the programmes and student support for which the University is so renowned.”

The University has also achieved:
- the highest rating of all institutions for assessment and feedback;
- the third highest rating for organisation and management;
- among part-time first degree students only, the highest overall satisfaction rating in ten of 13 subject areas, and the second highest satisfaction rating in the remaining three.
