Getting rich in a downturn, gold fever and mumtrepreneurs – The Money Programme investigates

The Money Programme

The Money Programme

The Money Programme, a renowned Open University and BBC co-production reporting on business affairs, returns for a new series on BBC Two in its regular slot at 7pm on 30 May 2008.

The eight programmes will explore how the credit crunch has left many people wondering if they’ll ever be able to get a mortgage while others are reaping the benefits of the economic slowdown by making profit from a slump. Fiona Bruce will meet Bill Gates as he is about to step down from Microsoft, and there will also be a look into gold, government-backed investment funds, music festivals and women entrepreneurs.

Regular presenter Max Flint will be joined by guest presenters Fiona Bruce, Saira Khan and Myleene Klass.

Dr Gabriel Reedy from the OU Business School and academic consultant for the series, said: “The summer series will continue to highlight and challenge business and management issues which make news headlines and affect our daily lives. If viewers want more information on specific issues, they will be able to read articles and blogs from OU Business School academics on the open2.net website. Additional footage of the programmes will also be available on this site.“
