Open University Business School MBA graduates in Russia celebrate success

A total of 34 Open University Business School MBA students from Russia are celebrating their graduation as they join a growing international cohort of more than 20 000 MBA alumni.

The students will be presented with their Master of Business Administration awards at a degree ceremony to be held at the British Embassy in Moscow on Friday 3 December. They will be joined at the ceremony by 6 students who have successfully completed the MSc International Finance and Management and 8 graduates of the BA (Hons) Business Studies programme.

Their graduation brings to 367 the number of Open University Business School MBA graduates in Russia. At the ceremony, the graduates will be joined by Dr Anthoula Madden, Director of Business Development at The Open University who will present the awards, Ms Sara Pierson, Director, Strategic Partnerships, Open University Worldwide, who has responsibility for managing relations with The Open University’s partners internationally and Professor James Fleck, Dean, The Open University Business School.

Speaking before the event Dr Anthoula Madden, said: “We are very excited to add another 34 students to the growing number of graduates completing our global MBA through the LINK partnership. The degree ceremony gives us the opportunity to celebrate the achievement of the people we are proud to call our students. Their dedication and commitment is highly commendable and I wish them all my warmest congratulations on their success.”

Professor James Fleck, Dean of The Open University Business School said: “I would like to congratulate all our graduates on achieving an internationally recognised management qualification. It has taken hard work and dedication, particularly as they were in full time employment while studying. The Open University Business School’s renowned practice-based approach to management education means these managers are well equipped to make a significant contribution in the economic development of Russia.”

The internationally recognised Master of Business Administration (MBA), presented in English, provides opportunities for networking locally at regular seminars and internationally, both at residential schools and online, with managers studying the programme around the world. Seminars are presented by The Open University Business School lecturers who have management and business experience. The Open University BA (Hons) Business Studies degree programme is recognised internationally by employers and provides students with an accessible, innovative and stimulating introduction to the world of business. The international Global Batchelor Business Alliance (GBBA) was created in 2008 with Russian universities to promote the Open University BA (Hons) Business Studies Programme in Russian.

The Open University Business School’s distinctive and flexible learning methods allow managers to study while continuing to work and develop their careers, regardless of their location. Over 41 000 students in 106 countries are currently enrolled on The Open University Business School courses.

The Open University Business School has been offering courses in Russia for eighteen years, in partnership with the International Institute of Management (IIM LINK). Thousands of managers across Russia have successfully completed programmes.
