OER Research Hub gets Hewlett funding

IET is delighted to announce the successful award of $1.5m by The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation to the OU. The grant will fund a 2-year project led by IET to set up an ‘OER Research Hub’ with the fundamental aim to look at the impact on learning and teaching practices of the increasingly widespread use of open educational resources (OER) in the classroom, university and college setting. The project team will collaborate with a number of existing OER projects in the US and India to investigate how changes to teacher practice, motivation to study and student success amongst other things have been driven by innovative use of OER. The project will start on 1st September.
