Times Higher Education Awards 2013
Today Times Higher Education, the magazine for the higher education sector, has announced the shortlist for its prestigious awards. The Open University has been shortlisted for two awards Business School of the Year and International Collaboration of the Year.
The criteria for Business School of the Year award related to the 2011/12 academic year and the Faculty had to provide evidence that demonstrated exceptional performance of bold and creative strategies and initiatives that had helped the school to improve and flourish. The judging panel comprises experts and leaders from across the education sector.
The OU’s Beyond the Frame: Indian British Connections, which has been shortlisted for the International Collaboration of the Year category, is an Arts Faculty project led by Professor Susheila Nasta, to heighten awareness of the South Asian contribution to British life. The award is for exceptional projects carried out jointly between a UK institution and one or more international partners.
Professor Rebecca Taylor, Dean of The Open University Business School, said “Being shortlisted in the Business School of the Year category demonstrates industry recognition of the impact that the Business School has on individuals, organisations and society both in the UK and internationally. We are incredibly excited as to be recognised by industry peers in this highly competitive field is a great achievement.”
These awards are now in their ninth year and celebrate the best of UK higher education institutions. Winners will be announced on 28 November 2013 at an awards ceremony in London.
