The team of five were selected by the OU Students Association from a pool of over 300 applicants. They went through a tough selection process before their interview with the programme’s production team, where they impressed the crew. The OU team have a mixture of knowledge across a number of subject areas which was the perfect mix to see them through.
The team comprises of:

- Kate Law (Bachelor of Engineering)
- Stuart Taylor (Postgraduate Diploma in Development Management)
- Daniele Gibney (BSc Social Sciences).

The OU Students Association’s Vice-President Educational Support and Research, Jon Rainford, who was one of the selectors said:
“As the UK’s largest university, the OU has a huge wealth of expertise among its students, so this is great news for OU students everywhere. We are really proud of the team for making it onto the show and we can’t wait to see them in their first match.”

The new series of University Challenge is due to start on Monday 14 July.
