Celebrating 25 years
The Open University Business School (OUBS) is celebrating the impact of its flagship MBA as it marks the silver anniversary of the programme, having seen 25,000 students* from 128 countries graduate since it first launched.
Today (Tuesday 3 March) over 200 MBA Alumni will be marking this significant milestone in the history of the OUBS’s truly global MBA at an event combining celebrations with updates on latest business and management thinking, hosted by Dean of The Open University Business School, Professor Rebecca Taylor.
Reflecting on the growth and evolution of the MBA programme since it was first launched in 1989, Professor Taylor said:
“Over the past 25 years we have evolved our MBA to reflect the development and diversification of global practices and we have led the way as the world of learning has changed, embracing technology to help our students – wherever they are – transform their careers.
The event is being held at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel in Marble Arch, London and includes presentations from MBA alumni as well as academic input derived from new MBA short courses including: ‘Management beyond the mainstream’ and ‘Sustainable creative management’.
A further international anniversary event for alumni will be held at the British Embassy in Berlin in April 2015 due to the extensive German network of the OUBS. British Consul General (Munich) and fellow MBA graduate, Paul Heardman will be delivering the keynote speech; he said:
The anniversary coincides with the launch of the ‘MBA Explorer iPad’ App, with a uniquely interactive design equipping prospective students with all of the information they need to consider before selecting the right MBA for them.
