The Open University (OU) has announced its support for the third annual Milton Keynes Business Achievement Awards (MKBAA) with sponsorship of the ‘Business of the Year 2016’ award.
The OU joined local business at a launch event held at the Holiday Inn Milton Keynes. Hosted by the Milton Keynes Business Leaders Partnership (MKBLP), the MKBAA recognise the diverse range of businesses in Milton Keynes and celebrate the impact of local businesses on our economy and wider community.
Steve Hill, Commercial Director of the Business Development Unit (BDU) at the OU, presented the ‘Business of the Year 2015’; he said:
“Milton Keynes has a thriving local economy and we are proud of our continued collaboration with MKBLP, as well as other local organisations, to ensure economic growth and sustainability in the area. Sponsoring this award and celebrating the accomplishments of local businesses is something that we are passionate about at the OU.”
Over 600 guests from businesses across the borough attended the MKBAA 2015 to celebrate the achievements of those who had been shortlisted for an award. Held at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel, the evening was compered by Kate Adie, BBC broadcaster. This year’s MKBAA will be on Thursday 10 March 2016 and will be hosted by Deborah Stephenson, actress and comedienne.
