The student's perspective
Elli Broxham is studying towards a degree covering a wide range of subjects from the environment to literature. 'I started studying with the OU because it was an excellent opportunity to study in my own language and gain a recognised qualification. The OU courses are fascinating, well structured and well taught.' Elli finds the flexibility of the OU fits with her lifestyle: 'As I have two pre-school children, being able to work at my own pace is essential. I had tried studying at a different university (one with walls) and found it impossible to arrange my life and babysitters around the various lectures and tutorials designed for younger students.' She is now looking forward to graduating and her future career. 'I will feel very proud that, at the same time as looking after my children, I have managed to obtain a good qualification to take into the world of work'.
