The student's perspective
Recommendations from friends pointed humanities student Bettina Schmidbauer in the direction of the Open University. 'As I live and work in Brussels I chose the OU as it is strongly represented here. There are a lot of people in Brussels and at the European institutions - the European Commission, European Parliament and European Council - who study with the OU' said Bettina, an assistant to an EC member. 'Through my studies I got more confident and relaxed in my job and maybe that's the reason why I also was successful in my career. I would recommend to everyone to look beyond one's own horizon and take the new aspects that others have to offer. The OU helped me on my way'.
