We are looking for an IT Project Manager to work within the IT Project Management function in IT Development, reporting to the Head of IT Project Services. This is a three year fixed term contract working on a large in-house system transformation programme.

Are you a recent science graduate? If so, The Open University’s Department of Life, Health and Chemical Sciences (LHCS) within the Faculty of Science and Hichrom Ltd have an exciting opening for an exceptional recent graduate to deliver an ambitious Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project. Based at Hichrom’s base in Reading, you will work on a challenging project to design and commercialise novel HPLC stationary phases.
Your main role will involve practical HPLC work to enable the development of the novel phases.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain first-hand commercial and project management experience within a strategically important project while being supported by senior academics from LHCS and senior management from Hichrom.

In addition, you will also benefit from a dedicated training programme be able to enrol, free of charge on relevant OU courses and choose to study for a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) level 5 qualification in management paid for from a £4k personal development budget.

You should have a good science based degree in an area related to the project such as chemistry or closely related discipline, or have equivalent experience. A PhD in analytical chemistry or a chemistry related subject is desirable. Proven team working, self-motivation and an ability to work effectively under time pressure, as well as written and verbal communication skills are essential for this collaborative project.
