Global development management addresses the creation and implementation of development policies, strategies and interventions in a wide range of fields through multiple actors in government and non-governmental organisations, international and inter-governmental agencies, and public and private enterprises.
We offer a comprehensive range of postgraduate qualifications in global development management that you can gradually build on: Postgraduate Certificates in Development Management, and in Conflict and Development; and a Postgraduate Diploma in Development Management that you can build into an MSc in Development Management.
Alternatively, if you just want to study a particular topic for personal or professional reasons, we’ve got a number of standalone courses that cover a variety of subjects, such as shaping public policy, institutional development and the effects of war on development.
(If you haven't got a degree or equivalent, but are interested in this subject, see our undergraduate pages for information about preparation, or contact our Student Registration & Enquiry Service to get advice about your ability to study at this level.)
If you’re ready to study at postgraduate level and want a qualification, start with the Postgraduate Certificate in Development Management. See the description below for advice about the courses you need to start with.
For standalone courses in specific areas, go to the 'courses in Global development management' link below. Generally, Development: context and practice (TU871) would make a good starting point and, if you decide to continue studying, it only takes one more course to get either of our certificates.
