This certificate is intended as a contribution to your continuing professional development and provides an international dimension for those concerned with the management of finance and reporting functions in larger companies. It covers investment decision-making in an international context and analyses financial reporting and the international capital markets. It enables accountants to extend their knowledge base to include International Financial Reporting Standards.
The formal entry requirements are either the equivalent of a UK honours degree or a professional accounting qualification that is equivalent to an honours degree. You will be expected to have a basic knowledge of accounting and finance.
You need to take two courses and each course is available only once a year, but they can be taken in any order, and do not both have to be completed within the same year.
You must normally complete the required credit for your award within four years.
You must include at least 20 credit points from OU courses that have not been counted in any other OU qualification you have been awarded.

For this qualification, we do not allow you to count credit for study you have already done elsewhere.
On successful completion of the two courses, you will be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in International Finance and Reporting entitling you to use the letters PG Cert IFR (Open) after your name. You may continue your studies and add a further 120 points of credit to your postgraduate certificate to gain a MSc in International Finance and Management (F39).
