The Department of Politics & International Studies (POLIS) has an international reputation for research in the areas of comparative politics. We have a specific interest in British, Italian and Spanish politics, but also focus on wider questions of global, regional and national governance, including executive government, executive-legislative relations, comparative party development, democracy studies, national party links with EU, and issues of citizen participation and governance in theory and in practice.
