Work in this theme examines all aspects of the relationship between culture, media and the social including: culture and consumption; cultural and media policy; the cultural and media industries; media regulation and governance; visual culture; internet and media convergence; culture, science and technology; media internationalisation; and diasporic media communities.

Coordinated through the Centre for Research on Socio-Cultural Change (CRESC), research in this theme makes a significant contribution to academic debates on public policy and social change in the UK and other national contexts.
