The Technology and Education Research Group is based in the Communication and Systems Department within the Faculty of Mathematics, Computing and Technology. Members of the group investigate:
  • the use of technology for learning
  • the teaching and learning of technology.

Our research is informed by our own practice at the Open University, and draws on our very strong record of teaching innovation and the substantial expertise that we have established in this area. Not surprisingly, this has allowed us to develop a strong focus on learning via communication technologies.

The increasing prevalence of e-learning, virtual learning environments, and social approaches to learning mean that our work is central to current educational debates.
