Spotlight on Professional Development in Education

'E111 - a great course'

`My daughter has a hearing impairment and I wanted to support her in school. I volunteered part time and did Supporting learning in primary schools (E111). Tutor support was fantastic; the units are manageable; the assessment is set out clearly. A great course with a great course team constantly looking for feedback. I’d recommend it to any volunteers. I had little experience, but passed with a great score. If I can do it anyone can.’ (Julia Brunskill, 2007)

E214: Equality, participation and inclusion: Learning from each other

The issues of equality and participation are complex. How do we ensure that all children have the education and services they need? This module is for anyone interested in issues of access for children and young people in diverse social and educational contexts. It supports you in engaging with differing perspectives on equality, participation and inclusion, and in developing your own perspectives. It asks what constitutes good participatory and inclusive practice and offers plenty of examples for you to explore.

“How absolutely brilliant the whole of E214 is” Mark Vaughan OBE. D.Univ – Founder of the Centre for Studies on Inclusive Education and critical reader for E214.
