Please note that this Certificate in Introductory Astronomy is only available until 31 December 2011. In order to claim your qualification you must have completed the required 60 credits by this time. If you have not already obtained 20 credits of collaborative study it is now too late to do so.

The Certificate provides a wide ranging introduction to astronomy and is awarded for successful completion of 60 credits of modules drawn from the lists below, offered by The Open University and previously offered by the University of Manchester.

If you have already completed some successful study at higher education level at another institution we may be able to give you credit that you can count towards this Open University qualification. Further details will be available when registration opens for this qualification.
On successful completion of the required modules you will be awarded a Certificate in Introductory Astronomy from The Open University.
